Revise Your Demographic Questions

If you’ve decided to add demographic questions to your survey, there are a few things that you need to keep in mind:

Let’s start with the age question, please make sure that the age brackets don’t overlap. With regards to the gender and ethnicity questions, be inclusive.

Do you want to know what your respondents do for a living? You can handle this in two ways: you can ask the employment status question or get more specific and include a list of professions.

How about the location question? It depends on your target audience: if it’s global, you can organize the answer options by continent or country. If it’s a nationwide or regional audience, organize it by state or postal code.

Very important, keep things optional; therefore, don’t forget to include the ‘I prefer not to answer’ option to your demographic questions.

That’s all for now, folks! Have a wonderful weekend!
