Survey Design Tidbit #10: Rating Questions

Hello!

I hope that you are doing well. Last week we covered ranking questions and now it’s time to talk about rating questions.

Although these two types of questions may seem similar, we will see how they differ.

As we saw in the previous post, ranking questions compare several features at once and these are ranked in order of importance; while rating questions focus on a single item.

Take a look at the following question:

The rating question above asks customers to express how they feel about their shopping experience. Whether it yields a positive or a negative response, it enables us to recognize what works and what needs improvement.

As always, don’t forget to reach out with your comments and/or questions.

Stay safe!
